until Fall Break!!!!!!! Hip Hip Horrrrraayy!
I just have to make it through the Halloween parties/parade at school and then its time for a much much needed break from school. Besides that fact that the kids are getting a little restless- the 'swine flu' or 'R1H2' has a fellow teacher called it has been running its course at Kolling. We have have ALOT of students and teachers sick so it will be nice to get away from that for a while.
Nathan has to make it through an inventory tomorrow morning(4am comes EARLY) and then a DM meeting on Wednesday. that wears me out just typing it!
its going to be a busy next few days- but worth it at 3:15 on Wednesday!!
its off to get some shut-eye...

wordless week(end)
yep- thats correct- I don't have much to say, hard to believe I am sure.
We have hung out @ home this weekend and worked on our new photography project for most of the day.
Are you shaking your head and saying- What is she talkin about????
well... to make a looooooooooooooooong story short. Nathan has encouraged me to make a longtime dream of mine into somewhat of a reality. Growing up in our house 'family pictures' was a VERY common theme. If you have ever been to my moms house you can understand what I am talking about. So needless to say- its kind of in my blood. We would start talking about our Christmas card ideas as we sat at the end of the pier in July!!! Nathan quickly realized how much I enjoy the whole experience and together(along with LOTS of help from Mom & Gavin) we have been working on getting '721 photography.' going.
As of two weeks ago- it is now up an running!! We are SOOO excited and have already shot 3 great families and have another booked for tomorrow. I can not wait! I will keep you posted on how it goes and if anyone else would like their pictures taken anytime soon...you know who to contact! :)
Unfortunately, the down fall is that I have been spending LOTS of time on the computer- so when it comes to blogging my mind thinks in Photoshop instead of blogspot. haha
now that I have my blog post up- its time to get away from this computer and enjoy a little ice cream with my wonderful husband.
night all.

God, Nathan & Oreo cookies
I don't need much more than those three things in my life thats for sure!!
This weekend was a fun one. The game was a huge hit- the kids had a great time watching the teachers get crushed and we had fun signing basketballs for them(I must say felt pretty cool!) After the game we raced down to Indy to get a little shut-eye before the mini. We were up and going pretty early and boy was it chilly. When the race started it was about 32 degrees- it got a little warmer as the morning went on but I wouldn't say it was warm by any means.
Now lets start with the first one in that title... God!
I reminded him MANY times durning the race how crazy I thought he was for making such HUGE hills on the course that we ran. I am not sure what he was trying to prove but they sure kicked my tail. After we finished mile 10 we looked ahead and saw what I would call a MOUNTAIN! That 'mountain' felt like it would never end. Well...not to your or my surprise the 'mountain' was not as long nor as high as I thought it was and I made it. The race went well except for the last few miles...lets just say they were rough. There was a girl holding a sign with about .5 miles to go that said 'I can do all things through Christ.' how true is that. I just kept telling myself this and I finished the race without walking and with a time of 2.24. I am glad that one is over. We have a few months off and then we hit the training schedule again for May. YIPPPEE!! (I know that ones doesn't have any 'mountains' so I am good to go!)
now on to Nathan.
As I was saying before...he is a stud. He ran the race in 1.42!!! I was so proud of him. He works so hard and has such long hrs. it is really hard for him to train like he would like. Yet he still goes out there and does AWESOME! He amazes me more and more every day.
last but not least...Oreo cookies!
At the end of this race they handed out Oreo cookies- and I really think they might have been the best Oreo cookies I have ever had. I am pretty sure I could have eaten about 20 of them. Think about the last time you had oreos with milk...remember how yummy they were. Ok take that time 100 and that is how good these Oreos tasted. my mouth is watering just thinking about them.
After the race we came home and napped and then enjoyed a game night at the Klopps. The girls came away with the catch-phrase victory this time!! To top it off the Boilers pulled out an upset against Ohio State. I am still not sure how that happened but it was exciting!
We are back in the grind of the work week. Lots to get done... next week is our fall break. It can not come fast enough!!

pre mini- marathon and basketball game
Tonight I am headed to play in a staff vs. Harlem Wizards basketball game. I know go ahead and laugh...it will be a treat. The staff team was more worried about what to wear and if they would have food for us before the game. haha!! I will try and post a pic or two tomorrow for everyone entertainment.
After the game we are driving to Indy for the mini- marathon that we are running tomorrow morning. Remind me again what I was thinking when I signed up for this??? First off who plays in a basketball game the night before they are set to run 13.1 miles? Second off I have been fighting a cold all week and its going to be 32 degrees at the start of the race AND third it has been determined(by Dr. Erin Taulman) that I have planter fascitis and have been fighting terrible foot pain it for about 3 weeks now. I have ran 2 times in the last 2 weeks...so I am guessing if I finish this race I will most likely not be able to walk when I am done.
all prayers are welcome and appreciated. :)
As for Nathan... well he is just pretty much a stud and wont have any trouble finishing and will probably have a message, and be ready to run another one by the time I am done.
Happy Friday everyone!
oh...I didn't get the picture of Frisbee golf posted like I wanted. opps. It was lots of fun though and the kiddies did great! :)

the heat is on!
Well...we caved and finally turned the heat on in our house this weekend!!! 60 degrees was a little chilly for my toes yesterday. With sadness at the thought(and reality) that warm weather is heading out we cranked on the heat. Not to worry- we set it at 62(64 was a little warm) for most of the day- just to take the chill out of the air.
The best part of this story is that Nathan and I both woke up around 2am wondering why it was so hot in our house and decided to open the window. Yes we are crazy- but it gave us a good laugh.
Yesterday I had a true blonde moment. Nathan had to go into work so I decided to head to the mall. I had been eying a pair of boots from Aldo and they opened a new store in our mall so I thought I better go check it out. They had the boots! YIPEE. As I was trying them on I noticed the sales lady looking at me with 'that look'. You know the one where you are thinking..ok, whats is coming out of my nose? look. I had a pair of argyle socks on so I figured that had to be it. I bought the boots and thought nothing more of it...that was until I got home and tried on my purchase again. This is what I found....

awww...crap. I can only imagine what that lady was thinking as she watched me try on the boots with two unmatched socks. I know what you are thinking too...why would anyone buy socks that look like that to start with? I just thinking the same thing. Must have been another blonde moment.
After I showed Nathan my 'opps' he kindly reminded me that this is why we are supposed to match the socks before we put them away. :) gotta love his logic.
Today after church Nathan wanted to go to the gym and shoot(his basketball league starts on Wednesday) so I did a little work while he shot around. The kids finishing up their Frisbee unit with a round Frisbee Golf. I had to make the 'score card' for Mrs. Taulman's Country Club. I will post a picture of the course tomorrow so you can see what fun it is!! The rest of the day will be full of relaxing and enjoying our warm, cozy house!
Did anyone see where there was a course record set today during the Chicago Marathon. 2 hours and 5 minutes for 26.2 miles= crazy!! (it will take me longer than that to run 13.1!) Speaking of running...our mini is next weekend so I better get out and get a good run in today.
Happy Sunday Everyone.

one of those days
I am glad its Friday but have you ever had one of those days...you know(or maybe you don't and I am just crazy) where you just feel like crying or you want to crawl back into bed and try again, or just wonder what God's plan is.
I don't really like posting about those days- I have so many blessings in my life that I get mad at myself when I let things bother me. But today- they bothered me.
So if you don't want to read about my 'gloomy' Friday then you better push the back button.
Today: I miss my dad. A LOT! I miss him for my mom, for my brother and for Nathan- who never had the chance to meet him. I miss his smile, his laughter and his goofy giggle. I miss his emails, his phone calls and his voice. I miss the smile that he would put on my moms face, I miss his crazy ties that he wore to work and I miss listening to him and Gavin battle about it being time for bed. I miss his advice, I miss his faith and his wisdom. I miss his hugs and his 'its time for a budget for you and your mother talks'. I miss that fact that our kids will never get to call him 'grampa', and that he hasn't see that amazing man that my brother had turned into. I miss the stories that him and Nathan could have and the bond that they would share. I miss my dad. A LOT!
Today: Someone threw something in Nathan and I's face and it hurt. I am sure they have no idea how bad it hurt but it did and I wish I wouldn't let it.
Today: I thought about my friends and family that have been given challenges that I don't understand and it made me ache for them.
Today..was hard on my heart.
Ever had one of those days?
Tomorrow will be better. I know it.
* I just googled Bible verses about strength and this is what came up.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

punkin' goodness!
God gave us another beautiful fall day today!! I got home from school and went for a walk with a friend. We just kept talking about how beautiful the weather was!! Have I mentioned that I love fall!! :)
With this awesome weather, the mums on the porch and the fall decorations up- it has put me the 'punkin' mood lately. So while I was at the grocery I picked up a box mix for pumpkin muffins. I have still been trying to be healthy and I just happened to get a 'healthy' pumpkin muffin recipe today. I don't want to brag too much but they were AMAZING and simple!!
pre-heat oven @ 350-
Add a box of pumpkin mix
one can of pumpkin
1/2 cup of water
and mix together.

pour into cupcake pan and bake for 25 minutes

ENJOY!!!

(I have had two already!)
I had to show you a few picture that I took on the way back from my mom's this weekend. As Nathan and I were driving we noticed the moon coming up over the horizon. I don't think I have ever see the moon so big or moving up so fast! We pulled over to the side of the road and watched it move up the sky. It was probably one of the most WOW moments we have had in a long time.

How cool are those pics!! p.s. that is a field of corn for all of you city folk!!! haha Off too bed... night y'all.

to-do list
Yesterday I saw on a blog that they had ALL of their laundry done. I must say I was pretty jealous. Then I walked into our bed room and there stood 3 FULL laundry baskets of dirty clothes. I just wanted to cringe. However, the weather was way too nice yesterday to spend it inside so I decided to put it off for another day- what is one more days worth anyways?! Today however, I think God was trying to tell me something because it has been raining and yucky out all day. Guess that means its time to do the laundry... yipppeeee :)
I have quite the to-do list ahead of me to get done before small group tonight.
Laundry, dishes, change the sheets, more laundry, dinner, and a run all before 7!
Gotta get busy!!

blog slacker
Another week goes by with only 1 post... I feel like such a slacker!!
It was another go go go week. Small group was at our house on Tuesday and I was pretty excited because I got to make a big batch of taco soup, light all of the 'fall' candles and put out the rest of the holiday decorations. It was pretty comfy cozy in our little house.
Wednesday we drove over to see Gavin(YIPPEEEE), have dinner and pick up mom's car to take it home this weekend. The poor Explorer had not been started since June and it was struggling. I just kept thinking of the Little Engine that could...I think I can I think I can!
After school on Thursday I drove to Purdue to meet my bestest pal from college Katy.

We had a PE conference on Friday so decided to get a hotel room and have a fun girls night. It was so good to catch-up with her!
Friday was the conference at Purdue. It brought back sooooooo many fun college memories. here is how the day went:
1.Katy forgot to email her sub lesson plans in for the day.
2.We were running about 15 minutes late.
3.We couldn't find parking.
4.Once we did find parking it was in the 2 hour zone- so we had to move our cars every 2 hrs. throughout the day.
5.Katy got a parking ticket(not sure how I didn't but it made for a good laugh).
6.I said something I shouldn't have. (sorry, not going into details on that one!)
7.We sat outside for lunch.
8.Carole(our PU prof.) asked us to be volunteers and lead a session then clean up.
9.We had fun.
Somethings never change!!!!!
After the conference I met Nathan and his dad and they followed me the rest of the way to moms. That night lots of friends came over for an awesome bonfire. Man how I miss the country!! We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, played soccer with the kiddies, swung on the swing and enjoyed the beautiful fire until all hours of the morning.
Saturday Nathans cousin got married it Louisville. It was a wonderful and very fun wedding. One of the coolest parts was when I was dancing with the groom during the dollar dance and he just kept talking about how beautiful Jen(his bride) looked and how much he was loving their day!! so cool!
Today the weather has been beautiful here. I just got back from walking to the grocery store and am getting ready to fix dinner and wait for my hubby to get home!
Happy Monday Everyone!! p.s I will do better this week with the blogging!!
