wonderful Christmas

(somehow this didnt get posted the other day!) opps. I have another coming soon full of pictures.

Wow! What a wonderful Christmas we had. We just got back home this morning after spending a few days up north with Nathan's family. The last week has been full of family time, so much love and lots of laughter. We are so thankful that God has blessed us with such amazing family and friends. Santa was VERY good to us- we must have been extra good to us this year too! God is good!

Christmas Eve

I love Christmas Eve- it is a day full of such wonderful memories and fun. However, I woke up today a little sad, missing my dad so very much. Him and I shared a lot of fun special memories on Christmas Eve together. He always had to work in the morning but would come zooming home around 4 or so(sometimes later). We would rush back to my room and he would have a bag full of gifts for me to wrap. Mom always had a list of things we needed to get done before the party but this was daddy and I's few minutes of laughter and fun together before we had to get busy. I miss that time.alot. I decided after shedding some tears today that I better head out for a run to have a little talk with him & God. I am always thankful for those talks but so wish that I could have him running beside me- I am certain that if anyone drove by and heard me talking they would think I had lost it!
We have our Christmas Eve party tonight and it was one of daddy's favorite things too. He loved having everyone here and enjoyed watching everyone in awe over Santa that would make his visit. However, just before everyone got here he usually decided to either clean out his sock drawer, brush the dogs, or take a nap. Too funny. I miss him and those fun silly things he did.
Gavin got home last night and I am so glad. I have really missed him too. Nathan and him did some 'male bonding' today and went to see a movie while mom and I got things ready for tonight. We are supposed to have a white Christmas here and I really hope soo!!
After our party tonight we are heading to church for Christmas Eve service, another thing that loved. I am learning now that it was because he got a good nap in! haha
Nathan and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!! May God bless you with wonderful memories with your families. We are so thankful for all of our family and friends.

Merry Christmas & Happy Birthday Jesus!!

CHRISTMAS VACATION!!

I AM SO EXCITED!! I AM OFFICIALLY OFF OF SCHOOL UNTIL NEXT YEAR...2011 that is! :)
I have a lot to get done before Christmas and to add in I have three photo shoots in the next two days. It's going to be busy but I am going to try and soak up every minute of it.
I know this post is short but I need to get some much needed beauty rest for my busy day tomorrow.
night all!

snow & ice

This week was a VERY short school week thanks to all of the snow and ice we had. We started off the week with snow and no school on Monday- then a VERY cold Tuesday with a 2 hr-delay, we decided to go to school on Wednesday then the ice came and we called it a week! Gosh I love being a teacher!
I must say being a stay at home wife was AWESOME. Ok, so I wasn't just a stay at home wife, I got ALOT done for 721 sooo technically I was working. ;) I loved it and pray that someday I will be able to do this full time, how stinkin awesome would that be!!!
Friday I was going a little stir crazy and my Christmas list was glaring me down so Mom and I decided to spend the day shopping. We haven't done that in a really long time! It was so much fun, we laughed at the 'personal rug razor' she found, the hippies in Quest, the random lady that tried to talk her into some game at the toy's store, the $1500 rug I wanted to buy, the few minutes Mom turned into the Tazmainian devil and knocked EVERYTHING off the shelves in Macy's and then the lady that got accused for shop lifting! It was quite the day. After we finished all of our shopping we met Nathan for a delicious dinner and enjoyed a nice glass of wine.
Saturday we got up and Nathan was READY TO WORK! I just LOOOOVE those days- he is on a mission and we are going to get things done. I try my hardest to get out of them... I couldn't find my socks, I lost my shoes, I didn't have a hat- none of those 'tricks' seemed to work. He wanted to get the garage cleaned out so I could park my car inside. Yes, a very nice thought but.... not in the middle of the winter!! He told me I would survive and managed to find everything I had 'lost'- so out we went. After a few hours we got it all cleaned out and everyone was a happy camper. :)
Then last night my mom got us tickets to see the Nutcracker ballet. This is a family tradition of ours for a long time but we haven't been since dads accident. Once Mom found out that Nathan had never seen it- it was a must. I was pretty excited, I couldn't wait to get all dressed up and go! Nathan was a trooper and put on a happy face too. We got there and the poor guy didn't even realize it was a ballet!!!!!! HAHAHA I am still laughing about that one. THEN he leaned over after the first few scenes and asked when they would start talking!!! Poor guy, maybe someone should warn him of these things the next time.
All in all we had a wonderful time and I think he even enjoyed it a little- or maybe it was the fact that they had an intermission where he could get something to drink! haha
here is a picture of us during the intermission- please ignore the fact that it looks like I have shaved my eye-brows and Nathan and I both look very green & scary!

Today we went to our new church and once again really enjoyed it! Then came home watched the Colts get a W and finished up some work on the computer. For dinner we went in and visited my grandma to see all of her beautiful Christmas decoration and enjoyed a nice Wendy's meal. Nathan and I both enjoyed ourselves and he was glad to hear some of the stories she told about my dad!

I can't believe that Christmas is this coming week!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am finishing up my shopping tomorrow and then going to start wrapping. We have school Monday & Tuesday and then will be off the rest of the week. I have three photos shoots this week so that will keep me busy too!

Ok now that this is the longest post EVER, its time for me to hit the sack. But first Nathan and I have to play our nightly game of Risk & Suduko on the ipad before we can go to sleep! romantic huh? :)
night all

a great Sunday

Today has been a great day! I was a little sad when I woke up because we were supposed to be in NWI visiting our friends but since the weather forecast didn't look so hot we decided to stay put. Boy, am I glad we did. From the weather reports on Facebook (haha) it seems like it was pretty rough up there.
Since we were home we took the opportunity to try a new church today. We have found a few we 'liked' but nothing that had that 'feeling' like Suncrest did for us when we first went there. Today we found it. I can not describe it to you, but on the drive home I told Nathan that I really felt God today- it was the first time in a long time. It is amazing the difference it has made in today, I am looking forward to next week! It is an answered prayer for sure.
After church today we went by and visited dad. Mom put some really cool greenery that has bells on it and it was perfect. Does the heart good sometimes to have a little quite time out there too.
We came home and I was in a de-clutter/cleaning mood. So I did laundry, put it all away, cleaned the kitchen and living room and tackled my desk! It is so much nicer to sit here now.
Once the cleaning was finished it was time for a photo shoot IN THE SNOW! SO. MUCH. FUN. It was freezing but I had a blast and I think, at least I hope, they had fun too.
My crazy husband convinced me to go for a run with him once the shoot was over. Picture the two of us, bundled up taking the dog for a run- we were the only tracks on the road!!! It was very relaxing, peaceful and, shhhh don't tell Nathan, but I actually enjoyed it!
I am getting ready to try and finish up decorating this tree(this picture is from Moms phone!) What do you think...big enough? haha
on that note...enjoy the beautiful snow!

tired

Today I am just beat. It has been a VERY long week at school and I am ready for the weekend. I just spent- ok wasted- two hours of my life at Walmart and that just about sent me over the edge. I have a to-do list coming out of my ears and this house looks like a disaster which always drives me crazy too. I dont really have time to be blogging BUT it is a nice stress reliever right now...so thats what I am doing!!! :)
On a positive note the tree is still standing and we now have the lights on it. I will be sure to post pictures tomorrow. I have a pile of Christmas cards staring me in the face too- I guess that's what happens when you are busy making everyone elses!! :)

Our plan is to head to Dyer this weekend to enjoy our Christmas party with our friends BUT they are calling for a boat load of snow so it looks like our plans might be changing. Tonight I am going to finish up the cards while I watch the Colts game and enjoy a nice glass of wine! that is if I don't fall asleep before the game is on!Off to fix dinner and try to snap out of this funk. poor nathan.

can you believe it?!

I am blogging twice in one weekend!! Impressive huh? Today has been an awesome day of Nathan & Erin time! I love days like these, they come far and few between so I try and soak them up when I get a chance. We slept in until 9, then headed to church and then home for the rest of the day! IT WAS AWESOME!
We enjoyed lunch watching football, then I took a nap! After the nap I did a little house cleaning and some laundry and Nathan and I found ourselves back on the couch to watch more football!! The Saints pulled out an awesome W but the poor Colts...not sure whats up with Mr. Manning but its not looking so good. For dinner we made a run for the Burger King chicken sandwiches!! HAHA. yep that's right we got in the car and drove in to enjoy the buy one get one free. The verdict...not worth it!! The sandwich cost a whopping 3.89!! We were shocked and Nathan told them he didn't think it was such a good deal! too funny. We also made a stop at Wendy's to test out their new fries. The verdict....worth it!
We have a full week of school, work, editing and exercising. I hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday. As they said at church today...
For nothing is impossible with God!

December?

I keep pinching myself that it is December. I am not really sure what it is but I just can't seem to grasp my mind around the fact that Christmas is THIS MONTH!! WOW.
A quick up-to-date of whats going on here...

-Thanksgiving was spent in Dyer with my mom's family. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed eating without a kitchen table! It was nice to be back at our old house. I had fun spending time with my brother and watching him and Nathan play the Wii. I am so thankful they get along so well. I also had fun with my friend Bridgette and mom shopping online!!

-We spent the days after Thanksgiving at Nathan's parents. It was so nice to spend more than a night there. We had great food and got to see Morgan and Marek ALOT. I had my nails painted by Morgan and hair done by Marek- it was quite a treat!

-This week seemed to go by pretty fast. I started working out with a friend after school and have enjoyed being sore everyday!

-Thursday night we got a phone call that something was wrong with Nathan's mom. To spare all of the details she had some memory loss and it was a pretty scary 48 hrs. She is doing better now, but we are still praying that everything will be ok.

-We drove back LATE last night and woke up to snow on the ground!!! I was soo excited. We decided it was the perfect day to go get a tree and a tree we did! It is 18 feet(yes, too big for the house but a little saw helped out alot) and its beautiful! I can't wait to start decorating, I will be sure to put pictures up of that one.
After getting the tree up(and back down then up again) we settled in tonight to stuff Christmas cards and enjoy a little r&r. We have a day full of decorating tomorrow so rest will be important tonight!!

Happy December! I am going to try and do a little better posting this month...but no promises. :)

uploading

Pictures are uploading and songs are downloading...thats pretty much my story for the last two weeks. Nathan  is on a conference call while I work on 721. Its been a HUGE blessing but 721 has been super busy. With Christmas card season right around the corner I have had a blast designing new cards but man it takes alot of time!
Nathan was gone to PU all week last week studying...Hoss and I held the fort down. I was able to get alot finished but its getting crunch time so I am putting in some extra time. I am super excited for the holiday season to come around. I am usually not a huge Thanksgiving fan but for some reason this year I can not wait for it! We are planning on doing a little traveling and spending alot of time with family and friends..yipppeee!
I don't have much time left before my upload/download is complete but I wanted to share something with you...
We received this email today from Greg (the preacher at our 'old' church, who by the way I miss sooo very much every Sunday morning). It said:
God is always at work.  And not just when things are going great.  In our hurts and dilemmas and guilt.  His deep love...Jesus on the cross.  His unlimited power...the empty tomb.

Pretty powerful statement and so very true- yet sometimes so hard to remember. Thanks Greg!

Patience. Peace. Love. Frustration. Hope. Forgiveness. Hurt. Emptiness. Laughter. Joy. Sadness. God. Friendship. Thankfulness. Happiness. Confusion. Excitement. Family. Sunshine. Holidays. Questions.

These are just a few of my thoughts lately in no particular order. back to working on photography. night all.

Happy Halloween!

Oct. 31st already....nooooo! I LOVE October and am sure sad to see it go. It was full of LOTS of ups and downs but overall it was a great month with wonderful fall weather. I am not really ready for winter yet- I am hoping for at least a few more weeks for perfectly chilly weather.
This weekend was a relaxing weekend at home. I got a few Christmas cards finished while Nathan worked on his school stuff. I hate spending so much time on the computer but I guess thats part of it. Saturday we enjoyed a little extra sleeping in-that was until my wonderful Mother texted to say Happy Friday...poor thing was confused AGAIN! hahaha- we love you mom!
After a run with the dog, it was time to make our Halloween costumes for the party we went to last night.  My good friend Kelly and her Dad hosted a big Halloween party that we were looking forward to going to.
We tried to think of something fun and creative to be... so without further ado lets see if you can guess what we were...here is a picture story for you! Good Luck!
we started with this....

and did a little of this...

to get something that looked like this!

how about this?
If you guessed Painters you are correct!!
It was the most fun costume that I have ever made. We had a blast and looked pretty cute if I do say so myself!
 This was our entire look!
We went with our good friends Heather & Stephen!
They were a Sheriff & Saloon girl. Heather is 6 months pregnant and looks great  to be in a dress like that!
 Heather & Stephen!
The party was really fun! We went through a haunted house, on a carriage ride, saw the Headless Horseman, had a great dinner, did a little dancing and enjoyed a bon fire! To top it off they had 'dead people' walking around the grounds- talk about scary!!
Although today is Halloween we haven't done too much, more homework and pictures! We are going to finish the night off with the baseball and relaxing on the couch.
Happy Halloween Everyone!! Hope you have a BOOOOOOutiful night!

photography workshop

The last two days I have spent at a photography workshop in MI and  LOVED IT!!! It was wonderful, mind-boggling, stressful, happy, packed full of information, fun, full of photography stuff but I am ready to go back! I left feeling so energized yet so exhausted at the same time,  if that is even possible. The 6 hr. drive home was long but I had so many millions of thought running through my head it didn't seem to terrible. I learned so much and now have a new to-do list, but this is one that I can't wait to get started on it!
My wonderful husband stayed at home and worked on work and school. There has been LOTS going on here at the Taulman house so he has been busy trying to work deals, study and help run a pharmacy!
Today was the first day after school that I got to come home and man it felt good. I was home before 4 and now I am not sure what I am supposed to do! haha. Ok, well maybe the HUGE list that is infront of me would be a good place to start, soo I am off to work on 721! Its a great day to be alive!

sunshine

I am so thankful for the sunshine today! It is a BEAUTIFUL fall day here in southern IN. I am watching the tractors go by after they have just plowed a field, listening to the wind wrestle the leaves, seeing the birds fly down into freshly plowed fields and enjoying every second of it. As Nathan always says, 'its a great day to be alive!'

A few pictures of some adorable children that I love so much. I pray that someday God will give Nathan and I children that can join in all of the punkin painting fun.Until then I will just enjoy every second of them I can!!

blogging???

I kind-of forget what blogging is! It has been so long and there has been so much going on. This week is fall break so other than volleyball, photo sessions, laundry and relaxing I might have a little time to do some blogging too!
This weekend we went to Purdue's homecoming game. Nathan & I, my dear friend Bridgette, Gavin & Mom all enjoyed the day being back on campus. It was a beautiful, perfect day UNTIL we heard the bummer news about Robbie Hummel. Lets just say lots of tears have been shed about that news. I am not sure how Nathan is going to handle this basketball season- I am sure there will need to be alot of counseling! haha
After tailgating we had a delicious dinner at Mountian Jacks(its a family tradition after homecoming) and then headed to Harry's. Wow want to talk about feeling old. It was still fun to be out and enjoy the evening but man o man- I guess I am getting older. We ending the evening with a game of bowling at the Union(super fun!).
On Sunday we were up bright and early to head to Chicago for a photo shoot. I had never done one in the city but it was pretty cool if I do say so myself. Mom couldn't be there to help, so thankfully Bridgette offered her amazing 'assistant' services so the day was a success. We then jumped in the car, drove back to Remington to photograph my FAVORITE two little ones...Morgan and Marek!! It was awesome and so much fun. They did a wonderful job and looked cute as can be. Hop over to Facebook and check them out if you haven't already!
The evening finished with a great Taulman family dinner at Red Lobster. Mandy and I had great conversations about teaching, kids, and the 'real' world. It was nice to have a chance to catch-up. The kids did a great job eating and playing with Nathan. He will make a really great day someday!
Today was the first day of break and as Nathan promised we got to sleep in!! It was pretty stinkin awesome. We did a few things around the house today, I edited a few pictures and had another photo shoot and we even had time to take a run and play a little game of catch in the back yard.
Tomorrow we have volleyball in the morning and then its back to editing and getting things finished up around the house. I am looking forward to checking a few more things off the list. I will have more to blog about tomorrow AND pictures from our big weekend last week(promise Mandy!)

Trip to Remington and back last Saturday.(loved seeing m&m)

40+ adults & 16 kids here this weekend.(AWESOME!)
Life...Priceless! :)

yes, I am still alive. I have so much to blog about that I dont even know where to start...so I will hold it off until tomorrow night- after practice. As for tonight- I am beat. night y'all.

Dracula & a wedding

first off I must apologize for my last post. As I was re-reading it today I noticed ALOT of typos(more than usual). I told you I was a little under the weather but I guess I was worse off then I thought. opps. Hopefully this one will be a little easier to read.

Friday night I raced home after practice, changed clothes and Nathan and I headed out the door to meet our friends Kelly & Tim @ Actor Theater to see the play Dracula. WOW. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Kelly & I were like little girls screaming out as Dracula would scare us or as the gun shots would fire. The acting was very good and we had a great time. I can't say that I would recommend it to everyone but it was cool considering the time of year. It was fun getting dressed up and doing something not house or volleyball related! We got home, hit the sack and were up early to start the day yesterday. I was up getting things ready for 721 & the Montgomery Farms open house and Nathan was working on his Masters work.  I must say that I was a little nervous how it would all turn out. I was offering mini-sessions for the fall to try and promote 721. As the day went on I was VERY happy & excited. I reached my goal of bookings and can not wait for next weekend to see how the photo shoots go!! God is good!
Thankfully I had a girl that offered to stay and keep booking sessions while Nathan & I, Gavin & Sara and Mom went to a wedding in Indy. It was a beautiful(quick) wedding and a really fun reception. We got to hang out with Gavin's new girlfriend. She is soo beautiful and really sweet!! We had a great time getting to know her a little, hopefully we didn't scare her too much! ha I always love seeing all of the FH guys together too. I just really think the bond those guys have is so cool. The night went by fast and we went back to mom's to crash.I have some good pictures to post too....but the camera is still in the car and I am too lazy to go get it! haha
Today I am trying to get things done around the house- you know, the fun stuff....laundry, cleaning, putting things away. LOVIN IT!
We have a VERY busy week. Monday Nathan's parents are coming down to visit for a few days and then we have volleyball games on Tues., Wed., & Thurs. Friday we are heading up to watch Marek be the kiddie homecoming king & see Morgan play soccer. I CAN"T WAIT, I sure have missed those kids!!!
I hope everyone has a very blessed week.

is it really the end of september?

Someone mentined that this week that it the first day of Fall....well from what I remember 99degrees is not FALL!! I am so ready to pull out the jeans & sweatshirts! I keep telling myself that I should enjoy the hot weather while I can but man o man- its hot! And I do miss the cool breeze, smell of leaves burning and camp-fires going!
On a fun note we won our second volleyball game on Monday! IT was a very stressful game and went 5 sets but the girls kept fighting and walked about with the W, I must say it felt pretty sweet. Tuesday mom and Nathan did a geat job with 25th year celebration at the store, they went through about 300 hot dogs!
The last couple of days I have been laying low, I haven't been feeling the best but hopefully tomorrow I will be back to normal(well as normal as I can be)!
This weekend we are heading north to go to a wedding of Nathan & Gavins so that should be fun and I will have time to get the camera out too!
 Happy Thursday everyone.

and another week flys by!

This week was another week that just flew by and before I knew it, its Sunday afternoon and time to cook dinner.
We had a volleyball game on Tuesday and I had a special cheerleader guest! My grandma Railing came and sat through the VERY long game. She was a trooper- thanks for coming Grandma, it mean alot to me! Maybe next time we will get a win for ya. :)
Wednesday was a loooong day. I don't even remember everything that happened that day but it was long! Then Thursday we had another game away and we didn't get home till around 11. It was a long night too. Friday night was our volleyball team bonding night. After school we took the girls out to dinner and then went to watch PU vs UofL volleyball game. It was awesome! I had such a good time and I think the girls really did too. I have decided that if Nathan and I are ever blessed with girl, I am going to be putting a volleyball in her hand from day one! Those girls are athletes, wow and I might have found my new favorite girls sport to watch. Notice, I said girls- not to be confused with NCAA mens basketball! Overall, the night spent with 27 hs girls wasnt so bad after all!
Friday Nathan was busy stocking groceries again!! Yep, thats correct- he ordered groceries for the pharmacy. It looks great and I am so proud of him! So now Austin Pharmacy not only has drugs, but they have groceries too!
Then yesterday I hosted a volleyball clinic all day for the little kids. It was fun but I was beat by the end of the day. I got home and Nathan 'suggested' I take a nap. I must have looked pretty bad! While I was napping he was busy cutting down a tree for some bon fire wood. After our 'work' we got dressed up and Mom took us to dinner. It was a great way to end the week. The food was delicious and the company was perfect.
Today has been an emotional day- its my dads birthday. Gosh I miss him so. We also had to go to a funeral of a very dear man. I will miss Mr. Mumford a great deal. He was a wonderful man, follower of God and a great husband to his beautiful wife. He will be missed by many.
We just got home and now I have my Colts shirt on and am ready to relax and watch the game tonight(if I can stay awake that long)!
We have another full week ahead of us. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
Happy Birthday Daddy! I love you and miss you more and more everyday.

productive weekend

It was a very productive weekend here at the 'new' Taulman house! We pulled weeds, did laundry, unpacked boxes, cleaned out closets, cut up trees, went on a walk, went to church, visited Lowes, edited pictures, got mums to plant, watched the Colts & Boilers and had friends over for dinner on Friday! It was packed full but we enjoyed it.
Friday night our friends Evan & Christa and their little guy Mason came over for dinner. It turned out being a great night to grill out so we enjoyed dinner out on the porch with great conversation. Mason was a little cuddle bug and was as cute as can be. I always enjoy having people over for dinner and now that we have the backyard to enjoy its even better!
Yesterday we were outside all day and it was so nice. The weather is starting to break here...fall is just around the corner! yippeee We got ALOT done outside and then came inside and finished up a few projects in here too. Slowly but surely we are making progress.
Today we went to church and then made a few stops before heading out to Montgomery Farms to pick up some mums. They are big and beautiful I can't wait to plant them! On a side note, I am super excited...721photography is going to be pairing up with MF to do Fall photo shoots. I can't wait! It is so beautiful out there that I think it will be perfect!
If these pictures don't make you want to go pick a few pumpkin's I don't know what will!!

Nathan is relaxin on the couch watching the Colts game while I edit more pictures and finishing up a few things on the computer. I hope you have had a wonderfully beautiful day for 'this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! '

an email

Today in the middle of my teaching day I received an email from a very dear friend. It was nicest, most genuine email I have gotten in a very long time. I am sure when she sat down to write the email she had no idea how much of an impact it would have on me, but it sure did. It didn't say anything that she hasn't said a million times before and it didn't say anything mind boggling- it simply said,  PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.
thanks my dear friend- your email meant the world to me.

frustrated

Tonight I am frustrated. We had a volleyball game and it was not a pretty sight. Now, I knew going in that there was ALOT of work to be done with this team. They have had 7 different coaches in 7 years, and were 2-20 last year. I have tried VERY VERY hard to remain positive and optimist, throughout the season so far, they need alot of positive reinforcement and encouraging.  I am well aware that we have a long way to go before we will be really competitive but we have worked very hard and I have seen ALOT of improvement, so for the most part I have been pretty happy with the season, despite the losses.  However, tonight we took 2 steps back. As I watched the girls play I became VERY frustrated in what I was watching. I know how much better than that they are and it is so discouraging watching them give points to the other team because of their silly mistakes, lack of effort, and lack of focus. We have alot to work on tomorrow, its a good thing we have 3 days of practice without a game. We need it. I am certain they will gain those two steps back and hopefully after the next 3 days they will more 2 more steps forward. Its just might not be too pretty for the next few days.
thanks for letting me vent. I am off to try to get some sleep....

Labor Day weekend

I love three day weekends. I REALLY believe that it should be like this everyday. You get to spend extra time with family, get things done around the house, and are energized for the week. I have to figure out who I can take this matter up with! :) haha

We have had a great weekend. On Saturday we enjoyed a few extra hours of shut-eye and then headed up to our good friends Sara & Shads to go dove hunting. Yes, that is correct we went dove hunting. Well, I should say the guys went dove hunting, the wives/kiddos stayed up at the house and enjoyed watching the activities. A little run down on how it works: Groups are assigned to bails of hay, the head out with their guns, amo and dog if they have one(Nathan & Mark were on their own to retrieve all of the doves they killed). Then they sit and wait, occasionally getting a shot off and hopefully taking down a dove. They were out for about 3 hrs and came in with 1, sounds fun huh. Here are a few pictures to tell the story a little better.

these are the bails that the hunters sat behind. as you can see they were numbered and they drew numbers out of the hat to see where they would be hunting from. (nathan & mark got #2)
my sweet niece Morgan and I went out to 'explore' and someone caught us! I love her to death!
(thanks to sara for the pic!)

nathan & coach kindrick getting their guns ready.

everyone heading out to their bails.

Nathan & Mark holding the 'bail' down. :)
Nathan got one!!!! This was him going out to get the dove.
I was one very proud wife! :)

the kiddies had fun while the hunt was going on...
 the host...cooking a delicious meal!

It was a wonderful Saturday with great friends and family. Doesn't get much better than that!
After a great Saturday, yesterday we got up and went to church. It was just what the soul needed. It was all about prayer, something I have been do not nearly enough. God works in wonderful ways I must say. After church we did a little shopping and enjoyed lunch together at California Pizza Kitchen. It was delicious!  We got home in the early afternoon and had some visitors stop by. Mom & Dad Taulman, Aunt Ann, Uncle Thomas & Aunt Mary Sue. This was something that I will NEVER forget. Uncle Thomas & Aunt Mary are Nathans Great Aunt & Uncles, wow- talk about amazing. They were celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary!! 68 years! That is something very special. We asked alot of questions and they told us so many stories about their life. I wish I would have had a video camera to record them all. It was really a special couple of hours, I wish it could have been longer. You learn so much about life, love and faith from couples like that. I will cherish that time.
all of us together.
Last night after they left we enjoyed a walk and a great talk. Something that both of us really needed. I really have an amazing husband and I am so very blessed and thankful. I love him more and more everyday.
shootin a few hoops!

Today Nathan was up early while I got a few extra hours of sleep. He was busy studying for his classes that start tomorrow, spraying for weeds and cleaning out the garage. Once I got up I was busy at the computer working on pictures and getting caught up... I am almost there! Its a great feeling. Our good friends Heather & Stephen and their little guy Cooper stopped by today too. We enjoyed catching up and watching Cooper play. Once they left, we worked on unpacking more of the kitchen(a NEVER ending process) and dinner tonight was hot dogs that blew up on the grill! I wish I would have taken a picture of them. We sat outside and ate then layed in the hammock and enjoyed our ice-cream desert. A great way to finish of a great weekend.
We have another busy week with Nathan starting classes, volleyball games & more unpacking but I am looking forward to the short week! :)

a beatutiful september day

I am so excited that it is September! If I had to pick my favorite month Sept. would definitely be my pick. It has been VERY warm this week but today as I walked out of volleyball practice the weather took my breath away. It was sunny(check), there was a cool breeze(check), smelled like fall(check), and was about 72 degrees(double check). I must say it was perfect. I drove home with the windows down and sunroof open. As soon as I got home, I found a seat on one of the front porch rockers and soaked up every piece of Gods blessings that he was putting in-front of me.
As I told you a few posts ago I had been in a little funk. Well, I am sort-of out of it but for some reason I just cant shake it all the way. I couldn't seem to figure it out. Today it hit me like a ton of bricks as I sat outside and looked around. I have been doing a terrible job of putting God first in my life. We have not been going to church, I have not been spending enough time in prayer, I have not been thinking Godly thoughts nor have I been walking as a follower of Christ. Its hard to admit those things however, its the truth and I have to change. Part of the reason is that I miss our Suncrest Church so very much. We felt soooo welcomed there from the time we walked in, it just really felt right. We have found a new church, its just a matter of time before we feel like 'home' there too. I just really loved going on Sundays to Suncrest and HATED when we missed it. Another reason is that we don't have a small group here. I never realized what a difference that made in the week. I have made a promise to myself and to God that each day this week I will put him first. I have total faith that will make a HUGE difference. I have more blessings that I can even count and I am spending so much energy and time on things that I 'want' that I am missing out on what I have in-front of me.I will let you know how much it helps!!

Now onto the happenings of this week. I know it has been a while but it seems like the nights go by so fast that I don't have time to sit down and blog. I am a little behind in the photography area too so when I get a few minutes on the computer I try to get caught up on that.
Life in Southern Indiana has been very enjoyable and its started to grow on me again. I think I might even be picking up a little bit of my ascent again(I am trying hard not to but sometimes I can't help it!).
Work has been keeping us plenty busy during the day and our nights have been filled with volleyball. My husband has been a real trooper and attended all of our games. This past weekend we had a tourney in Madison that might have been the longest sporting day of the year. We lost all three games and after the first game I asked the team if they wanted me to tell the tournament director that we were going home. That is how bad they played. I think that woke them up a little and they played much better the next few games. On Sunday we had our newlywed friends Shane and Jana over for dinner. It was a very enjoyable evening and we had a great time catching up with them.
Tuesday and Thursday we had two more volleyball games. We got our first W on Tuesday but lost again on Thursday. The girls are getting so much better. Today we had a 'fun day' a practice and I played a few of my elementary games with the girls, I think they really enjoyed it.
Tonight(after a long talk on the porch with myself) Nathan and I went for a walk and it was AWESOME. We took Hoss and a football and played all the way down the road(that tells you how many cars we see each day. It just really fun being out there and enjoying the evening together.
We don't have alot planned for the weekend and I am really glad. It will be so nice to have an extra day to enjoy with Nathan. I promise I will post some pictures soon too. I am thinkin a little 'life in southern indiana' post will be coming soon.

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.

always.sometimes.never.

I am stealing this idea from a fellow blogger, I thought it was a neat idea. Here are mine.

I always...
kiss Nathan good-night more than once.
wear the bracelet that my parents got me for graduation.
think about my dad a few times a throughout the day.
choose a pedicure over a manicure.
pray.
tell my family I love them as much as I can.
get nervous when watching TV shows and the actors are going to get caught or in trouble!
love college basketball season.
wish all of my family lived closer.

I sometimes....
forget to drink 8 glasses of water a day.
get frustrated when I think I am in control and realize I am not.
fall asleep in the car when Nathan is driving.
try to sing when I really should not.
talk too much.
wish that it was fall weather all of the time.
want to wear my cowboy boots every day.

I never....

fight with Nathan.
thought I would be living in my old house again.
want to take my husband, family & friends for granted.
thought I would miss my friends in nwi as much as I do.
enjoy riding in the back seat of car.
thought I would be a 'blogger', but sure enjoy doing it.

Happy Hump Day! We have a volleyball game tomorrow, and after two days of working hard I am REALLY hoping that it will pay off. Then its Friday and almost the weekend! Man, time sure is flying by. night all

i can't think of a good title

I couldn't think of a good title for today if you couldnt tell! Its Tuesday and I can't believe I actually have time to blog tonight! I even got a chance to turn the TV on, not really sure why because there is nothing on but it was a nice feeling to have the option.
Yesterday was a great day and we celebrated my mom's birthday. We had a game and although my volleyball team lost again, I didn't let that get to me too much(I am learning its not worth the stress on my body!). They didn't play great and I know they could have done better but they will get there! After the game we took mom out to dinner and enjoyed a nice evening at Outback.
Today I got alot accomplished at school and practice was VERY productive. We did the same drill for an hour BUT by the end they finally had it down and were successful. The girls were beat by the end but I think they are buying into it. I got home a little earlier then before so Nathan and I (Hoss too) went for a run. Man I am out of shape- but it sure felt good).
I am going to try and hit the sack a little early tonight, I am tired of everyone telling me I look tired! haha
Happy Tuesday everyone!

hello bloggin world.

Man, how I have missed the blogging world and HOPEFULLY I will be back a little more often. I am checking things off of my 'to-do' list to make that possible! I am currently working on pictures but they are uploading now so I have a few extra minutes to sneak in a blog post.
I am not going to talk about last week too much. Lets just say my attitude stunk and I was in a funk. I am going to try REALLY hard to have a better week this week. I have done lots of thinking and prayed that this week will be better. I sure hope so(and I am sure that everyone else around me does too!).
On Friday Nathan and I drove up to his parents and spent the night. We were there for about 10 min. and I feel asleep so he enjoyed their company and I was a party pooper. Saturday morning we were up early and headed to our 'old' house to have an open house and I had a photo shoot. We finished everything around 7 and headed back to our 'new' house.
Today we have had a productive day too. We got a run in, and I have been working on pictures while Nathan puts together our new desks!! I can't wait...I have been eyeing them for about 5 years now and am so excited(and spoiled ;)!) to see them in our house! Our cousin Michael stopped by this morning which was a nice surprise too. Him and I were bicycle riding buddies for a few summers but haven't spent much time together for a while since we were living up north. He helped us move a few of the heavy stuff which was a HUGE help and we were glad to see him too!
Volleyball is getting better each day. I finally know the rules and am learning the game- I actually really like and wish I would have played in hs. This week we have 2 games and.....ITS MY MOMS BIRTHDAY TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!! So it will be a full and fun week.

the last few days

Well, we made it. We are here in our new home, trying to settle down. It has been crazy, crazy, crazy. Lets see, on Sunday morning I had a photoshoot in the morning, Nathan picked up the Uhaul and started packing. Our dear friends came over and spent the ENTIRE day helping us pack our house. If it wasn't for such wonderful friends, I don't think I could have done it. It was an emotional day all around, as we said our farewells to our friends and closed the door of the Uhual at 8pm and pulled away from our house, I was a mess. It was sad. very. I will miss our friends so very much and I loved that house too. I will miss it. I am very excited to be back home but it has still been hard.
Monday morning I started a new teaching job and then had my first Varsity Volleyball practice. After a full day of work, I got home around 6:30 and we started unloading the Uhual. We finished just before 9pm and I was in bed by 9:30. I was beat.
Today has been another long day. I was up bright and early and off to school. Today I found out that I will be working at the High School doing something called E2020. I will be working with an online enrichment program to help students that are not passing certain subject. I am really looking forward to it. It is something TOTALLY different than before but I think and hope that it will be great in the end. A bonus is that I don't have to wear PE clothes! That means I get to go shopping for 'normal' clothes(don't be too jealous Katy!)
Day 2 of practice was better than yesterday. I am still learning the game and the girls are still learning me. I saw progress so that was good news!
Tonight I am beat again, there are lots and lots of boxes to unload and pictures to edit but that will have to wait till tomorrow. I am missing being at small group tonight too. Lets just say its been an emotional last few days.
night all.

a good laugh

Yesterday we said good-bye to the lake after two great weeks.:( As I said before it was just mom and I holding down the fort the last few days. We had lots of good laughs and really enjoyed being with each-other. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful mother! She really is the best and I hope and pray that someday I will have the same wonderful bond with my daughter(s) as mom and I do. (Nathan says only boys but I think differently)!
Yesterday morning we packed up with Explorer with everything that the boys left behind...its was ALOT of crap and when I say crap I mean fishing stuff! :) Somehow the boys got away with taking nothing with them so mom and I had the wonderful privilege of cleaning and packing it all up. Lets just say it was an adventure.
At one point I looked and mom and told her we could not fit one more thing in the SUV....so we loaded up the boat that we were pulling back. Oh yes, they left the FISHING boat for us to take care of too!! Very nice and thoughtful of them I know! haha

As we drove away everyone seemed to think we looked pretty funny. Maybe it was because the SUV looked like this.... (yes that is the back window)

or that the rear-view mirror looked like this...

or the brakes that if we would have stopped anywhere and they heard them they would have said this...

Either way it made for a REALLY good laugh. Oh and the best part was when I missed the turn to drop the boat off and we were driving down this very curvy, in the middle of two corn-fields, gravel road! I am just really glad there was no-one around watching us, but mom and I both decided that really wans't a possibility because of where we were! Lets just say we had a few good laughs on the trip back.

As for today, Nathan is home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited. Man I missed him! I had a photo shoot this morning that mom helped we with. Then when Nathan got home we fired and hired and Realtor. We LOVE our new one and are really excited about it. I have a good feeling about her. Today we had another little adventure too. We decided to take the Explorer in to have the brakes looked and and they said they would keep it over night. Well, we don't have another car sooo we walked home! Not only that, but we stopped at Aldi and got grocery's to carry home too!
I love our life! It is one fun crazy adventure. Not sure what is on the agenda for tomorrow, I just know we will be walking wherever we go! haha :) so I better get restin my legs!!

packin up

Its raining here at the lake so it gives me a little time to blog about a few things!

1. I can not believe it August already...wow this was a super fast summer! We had a wonderful wonderful summer full of travel and lots of big decisions. Close friends and family have been 'in the know' but I wanted to make sure I blogged about it too, so that in 10 years we can look back and say WHAT THE HECK...in a good way I hope!

Lets see where so I start-
2. We are moving back home! We started tossing around the idea this winter and did ALOT of praying about it and decided to go for it. Nathan has been wanted to get his masters for some time now and that is exactly what he is going to do. He will be getting a double masters- one from IU Kelleys School and one from Purdues School of Ag.  With this big commitment and since he worked about 60-70 hrs. a week we knew it would be way too much to try and do both. He will be working at the store this fall to help my mom out and I will be doing 721photography full time! I am so excited!

3.I let my school know in June that I would be heading out. It was one of the most bitter sweet things I have had to do. I sure will miss all of my students and awesome friends there but I am really excited about our next adventure.

4. Nathan let Aldi know a couple of weeks ago and it was a HUGE relief! I hadnt seen a skip in his step like the one he had that day leaving the office in a long time. Big smiles from his wife!

5. We will packing up and moving everything this weekend. We can't waait!

6. And the newest adventure is that I will be coaching varsity volleyball at my old stomping grounds this fall. I am really excited about it. I will be bloggin about that lots I am sure!

We both are VERY excited about our move but we sure will miss our friends, church and our house. It is definattly a leap of faith, but we know that as long as we have God and each-other it will be great.
well, I think thats all for now! :)

the lake

Time flys when you are at the lake. We have been here a week now and have a few more days left of soaking up the sun and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. We have had a wonderful time. Nathan had to leave on Friday :( to head to his first Masters class @ IU, and Gavin at to get back to work, so mom and I have been enjoying our time together but before they left it was family fun!! Today my bff Bridgette came over for the day and it was super fun. We are both CRAZY Bachlorette fans so we read all we could and talk until we had confused ourselves on who Ali was going to pick!
I have missed blogging and have lots of pictures to post and tell all about Hawaii but I have been enjoying the end of the pier too much to be inside typing away.
Tomorrow night we are having a Bachlorette finale party and I can't wait. Mom, Phyllis and I are going to put our pj's on, pop some popcorn and watch all 3 hrs of it!! They are really excited let me tell you...haha ok maybe not, but I am!!!
Have a wonderful Monday! night all'

28

Well, today I turned 28. Wow hard to believe. It was a wonderful birthday spent with my hubby, mom, gavin, his friend cody and the lake! The weather was BEAUTIFUL and it made for a great day to catch some rays and soak up the sun at the end of the pier.  My husband spoiled me with gifts as did my mom and brother and we all enjoyed icecream cake to finish off the day. It was bliss!
As I sat on the end of the dock and looked out over the water I took some time to reflect of my life and realized again just how blessed I am. No, my life isn't perfect. I miss my dad terribly and have everyday struggles just like everyone else. But overall my life is pretty great. God is so good and has blessed with me a perfect husband, an amazing family, and great friends. When it comes down to it, I really dont need more than that.
So as the day comes to an end and that 28 number is now mine to keep for the next year, I want to say thank you! Thank you to God, thank you to my husband, thank you to my mom, dad & brother, my MIL&FIL, my BIL&SIL family, and all of my wonderful friends for the great 28 years of fun, love and memories! You guys are the best and I love you!

Hawii

WOW!! What a vacation.Hawaii was beautiful. The weather was wonderful. The wedding ceremony was picture perfect. We loved it and had a blast.
I have so much to blog about and so many pictures to start going through(about 1500 to be exact!) but I am pooped. We left Hawaii yesterday at 4pm and arrived in Indy today at 11am. It was a long flight BUT so worth it. I will post all about it soon- after I get a few hours of shut-eye.

weekend

This weekend was a nice weekend full of Erin & Nathan time. :)
On Saturday night after being home all day I got the bright idea to go see a movie. Now if you know Nathan and I at all I think we have see a total of 4 movies in the theater together! I am not really a movie fan and there is enough sports on that we just watch that instead. So Nathan was VERY surprised that I suggested it...that was until he heard that the movie was Toy Story 3!! Yes I am a kid @ heart and couldn't wait to see it.

It was really cute, however, I am not sure it was really a 'kid concept' movie. Lets just say I was scared at one point and cried at the end...but loved it overall!! It was a really fun night and we even got popcorn and pop. :)
Sunday we went to church and then spent the rest of the day packing and working on things around the house. It was a nice and relaxing day until around 4 when I had a stupid hypoglycemic attack(that is what they have been this whole time...thank goodness its not my heart like we thought!).  My wonderful and amazing mom answered her phone and was able to tell me what to do to help me get back to 'normal'. After a few hours I was feeling much better and we went to Hilary and Jonas' house for a cookout. It was a nice evening full of laughter, jokes, story telling and even a few tears. I sure am going to miss them...that is all I can to say about that!
Today I am laying low, trying to get the house ready for our trip and finish the to-do list. Happy Monday y'all!

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

speedy fast

The rest of the week went speedy fast too. On Thursday night one of Nathan's stores lost power so we headed to the city around 10:30 and unloaded all of the coolers and freezers into reefer trucks(I sound like I really know what I am talking about huh?). We finished everything up around 2am and then made the drive back home to get a few hours of shut-eye. Nathans phone rang again at 4 letting him know the power was back on so he headed back up to help re-load everything. He, along with his crew, got everything back and running @ 8:56 and opened the door @ 9! way to go Nathan!! I, on the other hand, stayed in bed...until 10!
Once I finally rolled out of bed, I went to lunch with a teacher friend and her daughter who played on my basketball team 2 years again. It was great catching up with them and enjoying a nice lunch. After lunch I came home and worked on a 721 project. I can't tell you what it is yet...but I think its going to be pretty awesome! Hopefully I will be able to show you soon!!! ;)
Friday I got my hair done(love it!) for our trip and then we went over to visit Gavin. We did a little shopping, lots of talking, ate a great dinner outside at a cool pub and then finished off the evening with Mrs. Fields cookies! It was a blast. I know I have said it a million times but I sure do love my family! They are awesome.
Today is a day full of laundry and working on my project while Nathan does his class. We might even try to head out to the pool for a bit to catch a few rays. The buzzer for the dryer is going off so I better get to it. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

ps- There seemed to be a little confusion about my moms new bff...that means BEST FRIEND FOREVER! not boyfriend ;)

wednesday already?

I woke up this morning and asked Nathan if it was really already Wednesday? Man how time is flying by!
Monday my mom was still here so we ran some errands while Nathan worked. Mom headed over to visit Gavin in the afternoon and Nathan and I enjoyed a delicious homemade dinner. The rest of the evening Nathan worked on his class and I watched the Bachlorette. As Nathan says... I think we get dumber each time we watch that show! This might just be the worst season I have ever watched, and this week was even worse with the Jake and Vianna story. bad.bad.bad.
Yesterday I had a photoshot in the morning(thanks Mom for coming with me!! You were a HUGE help). It was awesome and so much!! Hop over to the 721 website and check out the beautiful girl I had the privilege of photographing. After the photo shoot I came home and did a little editing  before Vicky and her kids came over to go swimming. The kids did great but we didn't stay too long...it was hot!
The rest of the afternoon flew by- I went for a run and got rained on :) then small group came over for our weekly get together. I am so thankful for our friends here- they are the best!
Today is a day of editing and finishing up on a few project here. I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!!

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

3rd & 4th of July

We have had so much fun and lots going on these past few days. On the 3rd we headed to the Cubs game with our good friends Heather & Stephen(those pictures are on the other computer..opps) We had a GREAT time and really enjoyed the beautiful game. However, I must apologize to all of the Cubs fans out there....every game that we have attended they have gotten skunked! The first game it was 15-2, second game was 11-1 and this time it was 12-0. I did ask Nathan why he wanted us to be Cubs fans on the way home. He reminded me there was no other choice! :) After the game we came home and enjoyed dinner with my mom.
Saturday we were up early running errands while Nathan went to work. We went to Hadleighs 1st Birthday in the afternoon and loved every second of that! Lots of fun and so stinkin cute. After the party we ran home, took a 20min. power nap and headed to the Klopps for the fireworks. We had a wonderful time! Great friends, good food, margaritas & beer, home run derby, a bonfire and fireworks...doesnt get much better than that! Here are a few pictures from the night.

My mom and her new bff(Ethan) they were diggin for worms! love it!

Mom and Allie steppin on the poppers...they had a blast!!
life is good :)
On the 4th we went to church in the morning and heard a great sermon on God and USA. The best part was when Greg explained the real story behind God Bless America and the entire church sang it as a prayer together...very touching.
After church we went for a run(too hot to do that but the trip is only 9 days away!) and then Nathans parents came up and we enjoyed a delicious lunch and homemade ice cream! We were so thankful they made the trip up and loved having them there. We all found a little time to take nap too!
Nathan enjoying his ice cream in a NEW Purdue shirt! haha

After naps, Mike and Bridgette came over and we had a really fun evening of bags, a steak dinner and a few margaritas!

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable 4th!!! God Bless America!
